Scope and Content

• 'Children's Service still failing at-risk families'. Relates to comments made by a woman known as Miss E in her evidence to the Independent Jersey Care Inquiry stating that Children's Service is still failing to help vulnerable families. Includes allegations that she suffered severe punishment and bullying by older children whilst at Haut de la Garenne in the 1970s; that she was sexually abused by Leslie Hughes at Clos des Sables Family Group Home; and was asked to leave Clos des Sables after raising concerns with a member of staff about Hughes' actions towards a younger girl. • Name dead abusers, care inquiry is urged. Relates to a delay of the decision on whether to allow the naming of alleged child abusers who are believed to be dead, referring to an application by the legal team to the Independent Jersey Care Inquiry for a change in the protocol with regards to redacting the names of alleged abusers who were dead. Includes comments about the by Patrick Sadd, Advocate Robert MacRae, Advocate Beverley Lacey and Frances Oldham. Also includes an article about a States police appeal for footage of a crash on the Five Mile Road and an advertisement for a dinner dance organised by Beaulieu to celebrate Sister Marie Louise's 90th birthday.
