Scope and Content

Mark Lamerton is an author and historian specialising in the Liberation of the Channel Islands in 1945 by Force 135. The collection includes: copies and transcriptions of letters from Brigadier Alfred Ernest Snow, Officer Commanding Force 135, to his wife between May and August 1945 deposited at the Islands Archives in Guernsey; articles by Mark Lamerton published in The Armourer magazine and Skirmish magazine between 1996 and 2010 relating to the Liberation of the Channel Islands; copies of photographs and postcards of Lillie Langtry; photographs, newscuttings and letters relating to Flagstaff, La Route des Genets, St Brelade; and photographs of Hove House, St Helier.
