Images of the Lieutenant Governor Lieutenant-General Sir Edward Grasett presenting the trophy to the winner of the 1948 Jersey International Road Race, racing driver Mr F R Gerard. Bob Gerard won the road race in an English Racing Automobiles (ERA) racing car. The images also include the Bailiff Sir Alexander Coutanche and the Siamese Ambassador Nai Direck Jayanama and his wife. Children can be seen looking out from under the seating bench in the stand [see JWP 8/5/1947, EP 28, 29 and 30/4/1948 p 1, and EP Sports Edition 1/5/1948 p 1].
