Mrs Bransbury speaks about moving to Jersey from Bristol after meeting her husband, living on Plat Douet Road, deciding not to evacuate before the start of the Occupation, her husband's work, growing their own vegetables, improvising when they did not have much, the shortage in food and clothes, the arrival of the Red Cross parcels, listening to the news on a crystal radio set, taking the radio out, the excitement on Liberation Day, the British troops, going to Bristol after the war, the Battle of Flowers and the International Road Race, the increase in tourism and going to the cinema.

Mr Hambly speaks about the weeks leading up to the Liberation, unearthing his radio from beneath tobacco plants, school during the occupation, receiving the Red Cross parcels, the German's construction of a railway line, he describes the celebration on liberation day, going back to school after a few days off, the rationing, shopping after liberation, the clothes and shoes shortages, playing football and cricket, matches at the F.B. Fields, describes buildings that changed vocation during the occupation, the clean up of the beaches, the new shops opening, going to The Beaches on bicycles, cars used more frequently, the royal visit, the battle of the flowers, the increase in tourism, the international Road Race, the cinemas after the occupation, St Clements Parish Hall and St Clements Church, gypsies camping in St Clement after the war, radios, the Murratti cup, going on a school trip to Glasgow and the coronation.

Mrs Hardy speaks about coming back to Jersey after the war, staying with family a different houses that she describes, the vegetables crops, the shops in town, the celerations of Guy Fawkes' night, her fathers jewelry business, cars, the farm animals, various shops, telegrams, the postal service, nurses and midwifes, rationing, ration books, clothes, shoes, christmas celebrations, the blacksmith and his forge, the use of Jèrriais in everyday life, going to school at St Ouen's Elementary School and the classes, the entertainment after the occupation, the battle of flowers, the food deliveries, the fish market, foreigners in Jersey, pubs, the Breton workers, the cinema Odeon, watching the Coronation on a television, a holiday camp at Plemont, she talks of various parades and fetes and the Colorado beetle infestation.

Included in this file are the detailed reports sent by Robert Sangan on his buying trips to France, as well as his letter of introduction and military pass to leave the island. Also included are lists and prices of articles produced for domestic consumption and situation with regard to supplies of clothing stocks left in the Red Cross fund in 1945.
