Mrs Ferey speaks about seeing the soldiers on Liberation day, the crowds at La Pomme d'Or, the Jerrybags being punished, growing crops for the Germans troups, food supply from France, helping people who didn't have food, the Red Cross Parcels, the curfew, working for Deputy Pallot at Bel Royal, the clean up, exploring the bunkers, the rationing after Liberation, meeting her husband, the wedding preparation and reception, the ration books, their honeymoon in Guernsey, working on different farms, the community spirit, the shops, the tourism increase, the Battle of flowers, the tomatoes industry, the Royal visit, the International Road Race, the foot and mouth disease, the colorado beetle, the coronation, horse racing, cattle show, Jèrriais, cars, the Welsh and Bretons farms workers, the Social Security Law and the changes in the states policies after the war.

Mrs Hardy speaks about coming back to Jersey after the war, staying with family a different houses that she describes, the vegetables crops, the shops in town, the celerations of Guy Fawkes' night, her fathers jewelry business, cars, the farm animals, various shops, telegrams, the postal service, nurses and midwifes, rationing, ration books, clothes, shoes, christmas celebrations, the blacksmith and his forge, the use of Jèrriais in everyday life, going to school at St Ouen's Elementary School and the classes, the entertainment after the occupation, the battle of flowers, the food deliveries, the fish market, foreigners in Jersey, pubs, the Breton workers, the cinema Odeon, watching the Coronation on a television, a holiday camp at Plemont, she talks of various parades and fetes and the Colorado beetle infestation.
